Candidates will require an extensive Electrical and Controls background, ideally with experience in the refrigeration industry as well. Job Scope & Purpose • Under general direction, responsible for the design, configuration and operation of electrical components for refrigeration systems / plants. Develop complex software programs, commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations of the refrigeration system. Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate electrical / automation design and operation to customers, consultants and the internal field installation team and subcontractors. Key Accountabilities • Designs estimates, quotes and configures technically complex electrical / control systems as defined by the contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required. • Develops and tests software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements. • Undertakes full control in the supplier / subcontractor validation • Co-ordinates and creates necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. • Assists in the loading and commissioning of all controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. • Supports the execution & commissioning team on site (Project Manage) • Provides field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software. • Keeps management and contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. • Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the refrigeration system. • Participates in release meeting with project field team. Performs value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction • Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety. • In addition to the above mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined. Profile • Electrical degree or sufficient electrical background knowledge • Experience with the latest IEE 17th edition electrical regulations & all other related industry standards • Must have PLC knowledge, controls knowledge & software application knowledge • Knowledge in energy solutions & carbon footprint • Knowledge of BS-EN 378 Industry refrigeration standards • Within travelling distance of the Wirral (Desirable).
